Aurora Ipsilon Demo Colors

Most people in the pen community are familiar with Aurora’s writing instruments (especially after reading my review of the Aurora Optima Viola, I’m sure). As a standard staple in the pen industry, Aurora pens are great, reliable writers in general. One particularly impressive collection is the Ipsilon. This series of pens stands out for many reasons. Right off the bat is how many options there are. Not many pen collections in any brand boasts over 40 different colors and finishes like the Aurora Ipsilon does. Newest in the series is the Aurora Ipsilon Demo Colors.

Six colors comprise this collection: Passionate Red, Wise Purple, Intuitive Light Green, Enthusiastic Orange, Optimistic Yellow, and Dreamer Green. There are a few key features that set the Demo Colors apart from the other Ipsilons. First, the top of the cap and back end of the barrel now match the rest of the pen. In other Ipsilon series, they are black on each end. Next is the grip section. The grip section is now clear, allowing you to see the nib, feed, and all the ink flowing through it.

The Aurora Ipsilon Demo Colors still uses a cartridge/converter filling system, along with a steel nib. The nib is available in extra fine, fine, medium, broad, and italic. I love how these nibs perform! And since the Ipsilon series is over 20 years old, they’ve been offering the same wide range of nibs long before other pen companies.

Finally, a cool bonus is the matching bottle of ink included with each pen! I’ve always thought that the Aurora Ipsilon makes a great gift (even if it’s just a gift to yourself). Having a bottle of ink that’s the same color as the fountain pen it comes with is just classy. Even though we pride ourselves on offering all types of writing instruments (and not just fountain pens), currently the Aurora Ipsilon Demo Colors are only made as fountain pens.
