Caran d'Ache 849 Nespresso 6th Edition Metallic Blue Ballpoint

I’m definitely biased regarding Caran d’Ache pens and pencils because for over 10 years I consistently used their standard 849 green ballpoint every day at work. Their mechanisms are by far some of the smoothest around. The previous collaborations between Caran d’Ache and Nespresso have all been ballpoints with wonderful colors and finishes. Therefore, I’m not surprised at how wonderful the new Caran d’Ache 849 Nespresso 6th Edition Metallic Blue Ballpoint is.

First of all, the Caran d’Ache 849 Nespresso 6th Edition Metallic Blue Ballpoint is a new icon with a monochrome, metallic look. Similarly, it is born of the success of previous collaborations with Nespresso. In addition, this 6th edition is driven by a shared vision of a world in which design, sustainability and color come together to create unique, responsible products.

Secondly, the 849 Nespresso ballpoint is made from the aluminum of recycled Nespresso capsules. Notably, the 849 Caran D’Ache and Nespresso ballpoint pen draws inspiration specifically from the world of the Kazaar capsule. Notably, the midnight blue of the pen’s body, clip and button highlights Caran D’Ache’s color expertise. This universal color transcends generations and preferences, becoming an essential reference point. The body of the pen, made of recycled aluminum, is engraved with the phrase “A recycling story is in your hands” – a reminder that every action matters and that everyone can write their own story.

As I referenced the Caran d’Ache 849 series of pens and pencils, it’s noteworthy that this ballpoint is the same size and shape as the regular editions. It’s a rather thin hexagonal profile, which I still find comfortable in the hand. Lastly, I love how the recycled aluminum hybrid material is very durable. Its appearance is made with a microbeading blasting process and electrochemical treatment.
