Who among us uses their pens while sitting behind their computer screen? Whether it’s at work or at home, using writing instruments simultaneously with technology seems to go “hand in hand” (pun intended). When you’re going down the rabbit hole of the internet, which pens are more appropriate to use than the Diplomat Elox Matrix Green Pen Collection?

Who among us uses their pens while sitting behind their computer screen? Whether it’s at work or at home, using writing instruments simultaneously with technology seems to go “hand in hand” (pun intended). When you’re going down the rabbit hole of the internet, which pens are more appropriate to use than the Diplomat Elox Matrix Green Pen Collection? Step into the Matrix with this unique, tech-y look. Following up the Diplomat Elox Ring in orange with such a great design is no easy feat.

First of all, the Diplomat Elox Matrix Green Pen Collection has a similar size, shape, and feel as the Diplomat Aero. Tapered on both ends, this is a comfortable pen. Despite its medium size, the Elox has a decent amount of heft.

Secondly, the overall process used to make the Diplomat Elox Matrix Green Pen Collection is intricate. Elox derives from “eloxieren”, meaning anodize in German. It was chosen to recognize the complexity of the double anodizing process. The double anodizing also allows for both the black and the green lines, which creates such a beautiful aesthetic. The green lines remind me of computer coding (as we saw in The Matrix movie). This pen features full aluminum casing, anodized surfaces, and grooves on the barrel and cap.

Importantly, the Diplomat Elox Matrix is available in all four modes of writing: fountain pen, rollerball, ballpoint, and mechanical pencil. Both the fountain pen and rollerball use a smooth friction fit cap closure system. The ballpoint and mechanical pencil employ a smooth twist-action retraction mechanism.

Notably, the fountain pen is equipped standard with a high-quality steel JoWo nib. Yet, there is an option for the upgraded 14k gold nib. As I’m sure you’re wondering, the nib options are: extra fine, fine, medium, and broad. It is a cartridge/converter filled fountain pen, which makes it easy to use your favorite inks. Since the Elox Matrix is comprised of green lines, I’d recommend filling it with the matching Monteverde Yosemite Green ink. It would look great coming out of this pen.

Finally, as for the rollerball, it’s refillable with Schmidt 888 and 5888 refills. This is perfect if you want the look and feel of a fountain pen but need to press down hard as you write. The ballpoint uses Monteverde Parker Style ballpoint and gel refills. As you may be aware, this provides plenty of color and point size options. Last but not least is the mechanical pencil. This pencil is equipped with a .7mm mechanism. That’s a satisfying middle-of-the-road graphite thickness.
