Field Notes Harvest Notebook

Field Notes Harvest Notebook

When I look at fountain pen friendly paper that’s close to an A6 size for pocket portability, I want perforated pages. These smaller size pages would be perfect for tearing out after taking quick notes. Imagine you’re on the go, unclip your fountain pen, and jot down a quick scribble. What you wrote is important, and you want to only have that page with you. But alas, the pages are all bound – whether staple or stitch or glue. That’s why I’m always on the lookout for these elusive pads. Rhodia makes a great one called the Unlimited, for example. I’ve wished for Field Notes to make an A6 notebook with perforated pages for quite some time, and now it’s finally here. I’m really excited about the new Field Notes Harvest Notebook for so many reasons.

First of all, the Field Notes Harvest Notebook comes in their standard 3.5” x 5.5” A6 size. These fit perfectly in any pocket, purse, bag, etc. Realistically, the 48 pages it comes with is an appropriate amount of paper per each notebook. Otherwise it’d be too thick to fit comfortably on the go.

Secondly, the designs are so unique. This Field Notes Harvest Notebook is a limited edition – for their Fall 2021 quarterly release. There are two 3-pack options for a total of six cover designs. Amazing artwork is done by noted American artist John Burgoyne. All illustrations are of fruits and vegetables commonly harvested in the Fall – hence the series name.

Finally, Harvest 3-Pack A includes: Pumpkin, Chard, and Tomato. Harvest 3-Pack B includes: Apples, Corn, and Grapes. Field Notes describes the page format as being a perforated ruled dot ledger. All that seems to mean (to me at least) is that it’s a dot grid format with a margin on the top and the side. I’m so happy about this edition that I got both packs. Now to grab a “Fall flavored beverage” and start jotting some notes in these wonderful notebooks.
