Graf von Faber-Castell Magnum Walnut Pen Collection

The Graf von Faber-Castell Magnum Walnut Pen Collection perfects new visual accents. Even though this collection released toward the end of 2022, I’m still enamored with it. With its new dynamic silhouette, the Magnum series showcases a combination of fine natural materials and elaborate craftsmanship.

First of all, the barrel of the Graf von Faber-Castell Magnum Walnut Pen Collection is made of one of the most valuable precious woods – Caucasian Walnut. Therefore, the Caucasian Walnut has a deep brown surface as beautiful as it is timeless. Above all, this collection feels so perfect in the hand. It’s nicely weighted and shaped to keep you writing effortlessly.

Secondly, contrasting the warmth of this natural material are the platinum-plated metal parts. The finishing touch is the elaborately crafted black cap inlay featuring Count Charles von Faber-Castell’s coat of arms. And yet, even with this innovation, the collection remains true to its core competence.

Notably, the fountain pen is made for those special moments when you take time to write personal lines. The 18k bi-color gold nib is magnum sized and manually inscribed. After that, refill your fountain pen easily via standard international size cartridge and/or converter filling system. The nib is available in: extra fine, fine, medium, and broad. I recommend refilling it with Monteverde’s Scotch Brown bottled ink.

Finally, the excellent gliding rollerball pen, the ballpoint pen and the mechanical pencil are available. Both the fountain pen and rollerball employ threads on the cap and barrel. The ballpoint and pencil are similarly equipped with smooth twist-action retraction mechanisms. This is perfect for one-handed use. In addition, easily refill the ballpoint with your favorite Monteverde Parker Style ballpoint and/or gel refills. As usual, Graf von Faber-Castell’s pencils are amazing. Even the eraser under the blind cap is substantial. All writing instruments of the Magnum series are presented in an elegant wooden gift box.
