Monteverde Super Mega Carbon Fiber Pen Collection
Yafa creates some incredible new pens in both Conklin and Monteverde pen lines. I love the new designs, colors, and materials they’re using. There’s something wonderful about a larger size pen in the hand. Don’t get me wrong – I enjoy using pens of all shapes and sizes. But lately I’ve been drawn to larger pens. When they originally came out with the Monteverde Mega Ball Ink Ball Pen, I was so excited. It was new in every way. As a larger size pen, this was among the first to introduce the Ink Ball filling system. It was the best of two worlds: fountain pens and rollerballs combined. You fill the pen with fountain pen ink using an international cartridge/converter filling system, and write with a rollerball tip. I still love mine. Over the years, Monteverde released different colors as well as fountain pens and ballpoints. Now we see the new Monteverde Super Mega Carbon Fiber Pen Collection.
First of all, the new Monteverde Super Mega Carbon Fiber Pen Collection is available in all three modes: fountain pen, rollerball, and ballpoint. While talking about choices, choose from: chrome, gunmetal, and rose gold trim. The fountain pen is equipped with the high quality #6 steel JoWo nib. Choose from extra fine, fine, medium, broad, stub, and Omniflex. It fills via international size cartridge/converter filling system.
Next up is the rollerball. Both the fountain pen and rollerball use a threaded cap closure system for secure access and storage. The rollerball uses Schmidt 888/5888 rollerball refills. As for the ballpoint, it features a smooth twist-action retraction mechanism. Enjoy Monteverde’s Parker Style ballpoint or gel refills.
Finally, this pen has a decent amount of heft. It doesn’t feel so light like it might break in your hand, yet it’s not too heavy to be cumbersome. This perfect balance in weight is due to one of the features I love most about this pen collection: it’s made with carbon fiber. The look and feel of carbon fiber in a pen is so much fun. It’s light weight, yet so durable. Not to mention the way the light reflects brilliantly off of the pen to make it so aesthetically pleasing.
