TWSBI ECO Dark Sapphire Fountain Pen

TWSBI ECO Dark Sapphire Fountain Pen

Okay, so TWSBI has done it again with the new TWSBI ECO Dark Sapphire Fountain Pen. What makes this extra gorgeous is the striking blue resin. This is a beautiful, deep, vibrant blue on the cap and piston knob. I also like the matching modern-looking chrome trim. In addition, be sure to read all the way to the end of this blog for some major news and updates.

First of all, the TWSBI ECO Dark Sapphire Fountain Pen has great value with its piston filling system and affordable price. Like many other TWSBI fountain pens, it features a crystal clear acrylic barrel so you can see your ink level, and a blue cap. The pen cap has an inner cap to ensure a perfect seal when stored away. It is completed with chrome plated trim and a steel nib.

Secondly, the ECO differs from the ECO-T in that it has a hexagonal grip section for ease of holding the pen, and hexagonal shaped cap and piston knob instead of triangular. The piston-filling mechanism of the ECO Dark Sapphire Fountain Pen offers both convenience and efficiency. With a simple twist, the pen draws ink into its reservoir, eliminating the need for constant refills.

Importantly, what color ink would you fill it with? I think Monteverde’s Horizon Blue bottled ink would be a great matching color. As for the nib sizes, you have choices. Choose from: extra fine, fine, medium, broad, and 1.1 Stub.

Finally, TWSBI’s belief is that it is important to allow the user to disassemble and reassemble the pen and completely experience the traditional aspects of owning and using a fountain pen. These pens also come packaged with a wrench and silicone grease. Neither of these accessories are intended to be used immediately, as they are for long-term care and maintenance. Additionally, please use extra care if you choose to disassemble the nib and feed, as the feed is very fragile.

As you know, this past weekend was the Baltimore Washington International Pen Show. The experience goes beyond words as to how wonderful it was seeing you all, and spending time with so many wonderful people. I enjoyed catching up with so many of you, and making new friends along the way. Not to mention all the pretty pens, paper, pencils, inks, accessories, chocolate, and much more that I got to enjoy (and even bring home with me after the show). Thank you all (vendors, the DC Metro Pen Crew, and attendees) for making it such a special, magical weekend!

Now for the news! We’ve been working on switching platforms for our website for quite some time. The time is finally here to make the big switch. While we’re working out the kinks, please bear with us. Not all the pens listed are going to be accurate or in stock. The best way to make sure your order(s) run smoothly is to call and/or email us with your pen needs. We’re totally happy to help.
