I purchased an Esterbrook Estie Avalanche edition pen from Bertram Inkwell online. The site is well laid out and easy to use, they shipped quickly, and upon arrival I found a special edition ink bottle tucked in my box for free. The pen works well and writes so smoothly. Thanks for making my first estie experience a great one.

I like the locking mechanism for the piston fill and the screw cap. Very little evaporation and the nib doesn’t dry out because of the crew cap — important because I live in the desert. Writes smoothly.

Lovely pen especially with the stub nib

Just took receipt of another Retro 51 rollerball from Bertram’s — this one the gorgeous Girasole. Sunflowers always grab me, whatever they’re on, but these sunflowers are exceptionally nice. Ordinarily I would just drive across the river and pick the pen up from the shop, but we’re heading out of town tomorrow and time got away from me. Much to my delight, the pen arrived in today’s mail! So it’s going with me. I always look forward to visiting with the guys at the brick-and-mortar store, but it’s wonderful to know that they’re just as helpful via the USPS! Thank you!

This beautiful pen is a wonderful size in the hand with a terrific, as expected from Pilot, nib. I immediately inserted the supplied Pilot Back ink cartridge (I was too excited to get going to fill from a bottle) and from the moment the feed filled the ink flow ws perfect and the smooth nib glided across the page wih the perfect (low) amount of feedback to keep control. Truly a pen to hand down to family.

Another fine writer from Conway Stewart with an excellent fine nib.

Got the converter in good time and fits the pen. Very happy.
