Aurora Internazionale Limited Edition Fountain Pen
Share
The Aurora Internazionale Limited Edition Fountain Pen is one of those hidden gems that pictures just don’t seem to do justice. Aurora pens are a standard staple of many pen collections worldwide, and their Ipsilon (for example) is a fantastic workhorse of a pen. Aurora’s limited editions are ripe with creativity and colorful blends to match the theme of each pen. Specifically, the Aurora Internazionale Limited Edition Fountain Pen, has three generations of colors: blue, black, and green. It’s inspired by one of Aurora’s earlier vintage models from the 1930’s.
Of the three colors, the blue and the green have the most character (in my humble opinion). There’s a lot more subtleties in the resin that draws you in and makes you look closer. The deeper shades, and the specks of black and other colors really shows off the pen’s complexity. While the blue and the green version have yellow gold trim, the black version has marvelous rose gold trim.
Importantly, the attention to detail on the cap ring and clip is unmistakably impressive. I love how it showcases the Italian handiwork with its vintage style floral design decoration and polish.
Also, this fountain pen is fitted with Aurora’s amazing 18k gold nib with an ebonite feed that keeps the ink flowing. Speaking of which, there’s plenty of ink stored up in the reservoir via the piston filling mechanism. As for the nib, it was released in extra fine, fine, medium, and broad. But since there’s only 919 numbered pieces of each color and the nib is specific to the pen, there’s limited nib availability now.
Lastly, the packaging that a pen comes in usually isn’t worth mentioning when talking about regular editions. However, this isn’t the case here. The Aurora Internazionale Limited Edition Fountain Pen comes with a vintage style box and sleeve that truly impresses. The box itself is wooden, and houses a special bottle of Aurora ink.
