Bertram's Inkwell is Moving!
Over the years Bertram’s Inkwell has moved locations only a couple of times. First, we moved from the lower level in White Flint Mall to the upper level. Next, we moved from the upper level to an office building across the street from where White Flint Mall used to be. Now, Bertram’s Inkwell is moving to a strip mall only a quarter mile north on Rockville Pike (on the same side of the street as we currently are). The name of the shopping center is Metro Pike Shopping Center, and the address is 11520-E Rockville Pike, Rockville, MD 20852. I am beyond excited about this move!
With each move seems to come more and more upgrades. The original move within the mall brought a larger store (almost three times the size) with more space to display pens. The move across the street to the office building brought the larger space plus a better work area to take care of pen repairs, shipping orders out, and made it easier to provide customer service.
This move is even better because the layout of the store is going to be so much more functional. All of the “behind the scenes” things like the stock room, storage, shipping orders, etc. will be exactly that – behind the scenes!! This will keep the overall appearance of the store so much more clean, and clear according to how we can best help our customers!
Furthermore, we will finally completely control our store hours! The doors won’t automatically lock when an office building closes for the weekend! We have easy access for you to just pull up and park right in front of our store!! It couldn’t be better!!
As a side note, it will make going to (and coming back from) pen shows so much easier! We can have a whole section of the back room dedicated to everything we take to pen shows! This way, we can roll it all out of the store, and just as easily roll it back in!
I saved the best for last! Parking is ample and free! No more trying to find a spot on the street, or going in and out of a garage! Also, we are totally accessible via the Metro! The shopping center is caddy-corner from the White Flint Metro stop on the Red Line!
There’s plenty of smaller shops nearby as well. We are located on the south end of the center between a barber shop and The Jewelry Design Co. (a former tenant with us in White Flint Mall). We are still walking distance from Quincy’s South (very important)! They’re known for great food and after-pen-show beverages. There are many other well-known tenants in the center as well.
We will be closing the shop at our current location on 9/26/19 to start the move. Since we need time to build out the new place, Bertram’s Inkwell is moving and renovating from this Thursday, 9/26/19, until Friday, 10/4/19. If all goes well, we’ll have a soft opening on Saturday, 10/5/19. Grand opening celebration and festivities to be announced shortly. Thank you for your patience and support in the meantime!
