Caran d'Ache Alfredo Haberli Limited Edition Fixpencil

To all my fellow pencil enthusiasts, this review is for you. Whether you enjoy mechanical pencils, wood pencils, or sketch pencils, there are many occasions to use each in everyday life. I even look for excuses to use my pencils rather than just simply sticking with grabbing the closest pen on my desk. After recently reviewing the Caran d’Ache Nespresso L.E. 4 Fixpencil (see the review here), I’ve definitely been on a “pencil kick” since. Therefore I’m excited to share with you the new Caran d’Ache Alfredo Haberli Limited Edition Fixpencil.
First of all, it’s a limited edition dedicated to the Swiss Argentinian designer, Alfredo Haberli. He’s known the world over for his architectural projects and designer furniture creations. As he’s quoted to say, “Since my earliest childhood, drawing has been part of my life. There are lines that follow a straight line, and others that have no specific goal. There has never been a single day without a line seeking dialogue with an everyday object”. With drawing being such an integral part of Haberli’s life, it makes sense to have this Caran d’Ache Alfredo Haberli Limited Edition Fixpencil as a tribute to his vision and passion for color.
Secondly, with color options and artistic creation being the focus, it makes sense to have choices in this fixpencil. There are two colors to choose from: Ochre and Plum. Ochre is a copper orange color overall, and has a matte upper half with a shiny lower half. The push button is blue. Plum, of course, is a purple, with the similar matte upper half and shiny lower half. The push button looks black.
Notably, the graphite options are also colorful. With a 2mm thickness, these durable pieces of graphite are great for everyday writing as well as drawing, sketching, etc. Included in the fixpencil is a standard grey graphite, while the box contains a tube of four colored pieces of graphite: blue, purple, green, and yellow/orange. Also important is the built in sharpener in the cap button, so you never have to go hunting for your sharpener.
