Conklin All American Demo Rose Gold Fountain Pen
Share
After the first demonstrator fountain pens emerged in the early 1900’s, most (if not all) major pen companies create different models that you can easily see through. There are completely clear (aka demonstrator) pens, as well as translucent pens that still allow you to see some of the inner mechanics of your writing instrument. I am always such a huge fan of these demonstrator pens. The reason I’m such a fan being how cool it is to see how your pen works from the inside out. I’m still enjoying my Conklin All American Demo Special Edition fountain pen in chrome trim from the beginning of last year. The new Conklin All American Demo Rose Gold Fountain Pen is one incredible limited edition of 1898 pieces.
First of all, the All American pen collection is perfectly sized and shaped with a larger cap and barrel. It’s almost a larger cigar shape, which makes this pen so comfortable in the hand. The cap and barrel threads easily and securely keep the two aforementioned parts together while waiting to be used. If you usually post your cap on the back of the barrel while writing, you’re in luck. The cap posts easily on the All American fountain pens.
Importantly, the Conklin All American Demo Rose Gold Fountain Pen is equipped with a high-quality JoWo steel nib. Choose from: extra fine, fine, medium, broad, stub, and Omniflex nib options. As for which ink to fill this fountain pen with, that’s a tough one. I’m leaning towards filling it with Monteverde’s Brown Sugar ink. The reason is because it has some decent shading and depth which makes this brown ink look wonderful sloshing around inside your pen.
Noteworthy is how this is the first All American model fountain pen to fill via cartridge, converter, and now with an eyedropper as well. Conklin paid attention to detail with the converter having matching rose gold. With so many options, you’re sure to fill this pen with your favorite ink brand and ink color. That’s a great benefit of the demonstrator body – being able to easily see when your ink is running low. It lets you keep an eye on the pen overall. This high-quality resin makes the cap and barrel crystal clear for unobscured viewing enjoyment.
