Diplomat Elox Ring Grey/Orange Pen Collection

If you love symmetry in your pens, then look no further than the Diplomat Elox. Much like the Aero, it’s symmetrically tapered on both ends of the pen. Similarly, I love how that brings great balance to your writing style – no matter how you grip your pen. As soon as I saw their original black with orange rings launched at the DC Pen Show in 2021, I was hooked on the collection. Now, much like how collectors get every color of the Diplomat Aero, we’re introduced to the Diplomat Elox Ring Grey/Orange Pen Collection. The future is here.

First of all, take a moment and enjoy the cutting edge design of the Diplomat Elox Ring Grey/Orange Pen Collection. Elox derives from “eloxieren” which means “anodize” in German. It was chosen to recognize the complexity of the double anodizing process. This is a unique and innovative technology being applied by Diplomat for the first time.

Secondly, inspired by bestselling Aero collection, the Elox features a full grey anodized aluminum body. In addition, it’s complimented by horizontal anodized orange aluminum rings and gunmetal grey trim. Above all, the smooth shape and that satisfying click of the cap enhances the experience of writing.

Notably, the Diplomat Elox Ring Pen Collection is available in all four modes of writing: fountain pen, rollerball, ballpoint, and mechanical pencil. Similarly, both the fountain pen and rollerball use a smooth friction fit cap closure system. However, the ballpoint and mechanical pencil employ a smooth twist-action retraction mechanism.

Importantly, the fountain pen is equipped standard with a high-quality, smooth steel #6 JoWo nib. Yet, there is an option for the upgraded 14k gold nib. As I’m sure you’re wondering, the nib options are: extra fine, fine, medium, and broad. It is a cartridge/converter filled fountain pen, which makes it easy to use your favorite inks. Therefore, since the Elox Ring is comprised of grey and orange rings, I’d recommend filling it with the matching Monteverde Copper Noir ink. In addition, it has such a perfect amount of shading and would look great coming out of this pen.

Notably, as for the rollerball, it’s refillable with Schmidt 888 and 5888 refills. Similarly, this is perfect if you want the look and feel of a fountain pen but need to press down hard as you write. The ballpoint uses Monteverde Parker Style ballpoint and gel refills. As you may be aware, this provides plenty of color and point size options. Last but not least is the mechanical pencil. This pencil is equipped with a .7mm mechanism. That’s a satisfying middle-of-the-road graphite thickness.
