Parker 51 Ballpoint 2021
Earlier in 2021, Parker released a special edition of the model 51. Since the Parker 51 is full of history, and long adored by fountain pen users the world over, it’s understandable that the Parker 51 fountain pen 2021 edition became the focal point of the release. There was a lot of comparison between the 2021 edition and the original. Rest assured, I will review the fountain pen (as it gets closer to Father’s Day, since that pen makes a great Father’s Day gift). However, the Parker 51 Ballpoint 2021 feels like it got brushed aside in all the enthusiasm for the fountain pen. This is one amazing ballpoint, packed with value!
First of all, the Parker 51 Ballpoint 2021 is not a heavy pen at all. It’s definitely on the medium to lighter side of heft. But that means your hand won’t get fatigued at all with prolonged use. When you’re jotting down notes all day at work, this pen handles the task easily. Notably, the thinner (yet standard length) profile is exactly the right amount of balance to fit comfortably in your hand.
Secondly, the high-quality, major impact twist-action retraction easily employs the Monteverde Parker Style ballpoint or gel refills. This is perfect for maximum impact with your writing. Whether you want your notes to stand out, or if you like the efficiency of being able to quickly unscrew the two sections to replace the refill, or if you just like the way these refills write in your pen, the Parker 51 Ballpoint 2021 makes a difference.
Finally, as for colors and materials, you have plenty to choose from. Parker created four distinct colored resin barrels, each with a solid stainless steel cap in the standard 51. The options are: Black, Blue, Burgundy, and Teal. In the 51 Deluxe, there’s Black or Plum resin barrels, each with a gold plated cap. Not only are the colors a throwback, but the overall design is reintroducing the “classic 51” from the 1940’s to a new generation of writers.
