Red, White, And Blue

I hope you all had a wonderful Independence Day! Even though the holiday was just a few short days ago, it’s still fun to prepare your pens according to the theme. I’m not referring to using hot dog buns as a pen rest, but rather inking up and using your Red, White, and Blue pens and inks. With so many options for the Red, White, and Blue theme, here are some suggestions to get you started.

First of all, the Esterbrook J.R. fountain pen is a fantastic smaller size pen. It’s comfortable in the hand, and writes like a dream. Secondly, the Aurora Ipsilon is a great everyday writer. Whether you prefer fountain pen, rollerball, or ballpoint, these pens deliver. The standard Ipsilon and Demo Colors line is available in Red, while the Italia line is available in White, and the Satin and Deluxe lines are available in Blue. Third, if you want to get a bit fancier with Aurora pens, check out their Optima Auroloide series. These amazing writers are available in Red, Blue, and Nero Perla (a greyish-white marble). Fourth is the hit entry-level series from Monteverde: the Ritma. The Ritma packs a ton of value, and has a decent amount of heft. It’s made entirely of metal, and is very well balanced. If you want a light blue option, they make Turquoise. But there’s also traditional Blue, as well as Red and Silver available. Fifth is the Monteverde Rodeo Drive collection. It’s available in a pearl White, and Blue. I love how modern and stylish the Rodeo Drive is – exactly like the namesake in California. Next up is the Diplomat Aero collection. As you may be familiar with this line, there’s a ton of color combinations available. So, in keeping with this theme, their Red, Blue, and Blue/Silver colors are rich. And the all metal bodies are very durable, while their overall shape makes these pens balance perfectly in the hand. Finally we have the Conklin All American collection. I saved the best-named for the occasion for the end of the list. What better pen for Red, White, and Blue than one called the All American? Their Courage limited edition is available in Red and White, while their regular edition is available in Blue and Old Glory (which is actually all three colors in one).
