Rhodia Goalbook A5 Journal
Rhodia paper has become synonymous with the term “fountain pen friendly” paper. As someone who is always on the lookout for great paper, Rhodia is always a favorite choice of mine. Whether you’re using fountain pens, rollerballs, ballpoints, or pencils, they all work very well with Rhodia paper. So, when they came out with the Rhodia Goalbook A5 Journal, for me it was a no-brainer to pick one up!
Actually, I ended up buying four of them since they come in so many fun colors! In fact, it’s 16 vibrant colors: Silver, Black, Chocolate, Taupe, Beige, Anise, Turquoise, Sapphire, Iris, Purple, Lilac, Raspberry, Poppy, Tangerine, Orange, and Yellow. My favorite is Anise (the green one). I love how the bright green contrasts so nicely with the bright orange elastic strap and both bookmarks. The leatherette cover is also so incredibly durable. I definitely put it through the paces as it gets thrown around from place to place that I go. It only has minor scuffs along the spine after so much use! Even the elastic strap stays tightly wrapped around the journal, keeping its contents safe.
After the concept of Bullet Journaling (BuJo) rose to such popularity, Rhodia created this book to aid in this very purpose. I never got into the craze of BuJo myself, though I know many who swear by it. Therefore Rhodia placed a Table of Contents in the first few pages. Next comes a very loose, un-dated calendar system. This makes it very customizable for your use throughout the year. Not to forget, there’s an expandable “pocket” attached to the back inner cover.
The pages themselves are an ivory/cream color, and weigh 90 g/m². The only thing I wish this Rhodia Goalbook A5 Journal has is perforated pages. They are numbered as well in tiny numbers in the bottom corner of the pages. Finally, a dot grid covering each page helps my productivity as the things I need to write are unencumbered by lines or a square grid. I always feel like this provides guidance without inhibiting what I need to write. Whether it’s quick notes for work, or a tiny sketch, or to-do lists, and so much more, I find it to be so helpful!
