Michel Perchin Russian Eagle Coronation Yellow Limited Edition Fountain Pen, 2006

The hand crafted Russian Eagle Pens incorporates starburst patterns with trellises, and contrasting bold black enameled Imperial Eagle. Looking carefully at the Imperial Eagle design, a figure of a horse and rider is incorporated within the Eagle. 

Each piece is meticulously handcrafted in Europe in solid 925 sterling silver and engraved with over 1,000 marks to the highest goldsmith standards. Multiple layers of translucent enamel are baked onto the guilloche pattern adding depth and beauty to the starburst and Imperial Eagle design. 

The Michel Perchin Russian Eagle Pens were produced in limited edition quantities of 88 pens per color. The color palette includes a Coronation Yellow with a Black Imperial Eagle and Rhodium plating; Periwinkle Blue with a Black Imperial Eagle and Rhodium plating; Royal Blue with a Black Imperial Eagle with Gold plating; and Ruby Red with a black Imperial Eagle with Gold plating.  

The Russian Eagle Collection is crafted from a solid .925 English hallmarked, Sterling silver rods, and engraved to the highest world-class goldsmith standards. Multiple layers of translucent hard enamel are hard fired to the guilloched engraved pattern adding depth and beauty to the starburst design. The nibs are crafted from 18K gold and alloyed with Iridium for strength and flexibility.The clip, crown, ring and high relief fleur-de-lis patterns are then layered in 22-karat yellow gold. 

Since the development of the modern fountain pen, the process involved in transferring liquid ink from its storage container to the paper has changed very little. The feeder system is one of the integral parts that makes this process possible. 

In a small town outside Paris, France, Michel Perchin manufactured their feeders one at a time in a manner that guarantees the finest delivery system in the world.  They start with solid rods of ebonite, a special form of hardened rubber that has a porous nature. The ebonite is machined to carefully monitored specifications, resulting in a feeder that matches our nib exactly. Each feeder accepts either screw-in convertors or ink cartridges of standard European size. 

To complete this exceptional writing instrument no expense has been spared. In Heidelberg, Germay, 24 karat gold is alloyed with other metals to achive the perfect blend for strength and flexibility, producing 18 karat gold sheets from which the nib is formed to precise specifications and then engraved. 

Iridium, a much harder metal, is welded on the tip. Finally, the nib is plated to accent our mascot, the Elephant and Tower, and the entire surface is polished. The result is the finest precision nib used on any pen in the world today. 

This edition was created with Michel Perchin's highest standards in Europe and mounted with smooth writing 18K gold nibs and ebonite feeders to enhance the ink flow.

This writing instrument is new, has never been used, and is accompanied by the original documentation proving authenticity.  Although it has been stored in a climate-controlled vault, the outer cardboard box and the inside of the presentation box show marks due to age.
