Montblanc is proud to dedicate its limited edition to the incomparable Oscar Wilde. Not coincidentally, his beliefs of a century ago reflect the Montblanc ideals of today, as illustrated by one of his more famous quotations:

The Oscar Wilde Limited Edition owes its unconventional appearance to a classic Montblanc design of the 1920's, an era when people dove headlong into life as Wilde had done decades before.  Artists began to dismiss the reigning moral and aesthetic codes of the time in pursuit of beauty and pleasure. They took immense pride in using the word, 'decadent', as their credo.  And today, though a beautiful blend of form and color this spirit is reflected in every detail of the Oscar Wilde Edition.

In the eyes of connoisseurs, Montblanc writing instruments are an unwavering symbol of near perfect craftsmanship.  And with the Oscar Wilde, Montblanc aims to surpass even this lofty standard through an almost excessive attention to detail. Its unconventional finish immediately grabs the eye, as does the elegant vermeil clip and fittings (sterling silver gilded with 23.5-karat gold).  The artful letter embossing of the Montblanc name adds a luxurious touch.  In addition, the distinctive flowing signature of Oscar Wilde is engraved on each writing instrument.  Finally, there is the nib, the true heart and focal point of every fountain pen. Its intricately engraved 18-karat gold surface contrasts beautifully with the elegant casing.  Each nib is painstakingly crafted and tested by hand.
