Ferrari is the world famous Italian sports car brand. Founded by Enzo Ferrari in 1929, the company started by sponsoring drivers and manufactured race cars as Scuderia Ferrari, which translates to "Ferrari Stable". In 1947, the company moved into the production of street legal vehicles as Ferrari S.p.A. Throughout its history, Ferrari was noted for its participation in racing, most notably in Formula One in which it had great success.

The Cavallino Rampante or "Prancing Horse" is the famous symbol of the Ferrari race team. The stallion is black on top of a yellow shield, and on top is green, white, and red, the national colors of Italy. After Enzo Ferrari won a race in Ravenna, he met the mother of Count Francesco Baracca, An ace of the Italian Air Force and National Hero of World War I. He would paint a prancing horse on the side of his plane. The Countess asked Enzo Ferrari to use this horse on his cars, suggesting it would bring him luck. Thus, the emblem of the prancing horse was born.
