Around the world, millions of fans tuned in to the action-packed season seven finale of Game of Thrones® this summer. To tide viewers over until season 8, Montegrappa introduces a set of officially-authorised Game of Thrones writing instruments, called “Westeros” after the continent that is to King’s Landing, Dorne, the Iron Islands and other pivotal locations from the series.

Born in the wake of the huge success of Montegrappa’s first regular editions of Game of Thrones writing instruments, the new series represents four of the primary noble houses of Westeros, celebrating the series with a combination of lordly black resin and that most martial of materials: stainless steel.

Enriching the body of every pen are laser-cut contrast sigils of the main houses of the saga: Targaryen, Tyrell, Stark, Lannister. Aficionados can choose the house they favour most – or acquire the quartet. In keeping with the most important images of the series, the signature clip is forged into a sword, while the cap is further embellished with blood-red enamel accents. As a finishing touch, the cap top has been personalised with the Game of Thrones logo. 

Montegrappa Makes Play for the Iron Throne with New Line of Game of Thrones® Pens

Montegrappa’s collection of writing instruments represents of each of the four key families: Stark, Baratheon, Lannister and Targaryen. Each is available as a fountain pen, rollerball and a ballpoint pen. The desirability of the pens is enhanced by a collective style, each pen individualised for the family it represents through sigils and emblems representative of the clan.

The cap and barrel are made with colorful lacquered surfaces, while the trims are fashioned of palladium, 18k gold orbronze plate, with “Game of Thrones” engraved on the cap ring. The fountain pen FINE nib is formed in stainless steel, decorated with a sword and utilizes the cartridge and converter-fed. 

Montegrappa’s Game of Thrones pens arrive in a double box consisting of a rich, black outer carton bearing each family’ssymbol. The inner box is covered in material evoking the styles of the historical period that inspired Game of Thrones, with sigils and patterns relevant to the four families.

Stark: With House Stark’s northern origins, the colour chosen for the family’s pen is a silvery-white, accented in palladium, conveying winter. The cap is patterned with a runic symbol reminiscent of Norse artistry. A direwolf’s head forms the pocket clip, while the top of the cap shows the direwolf’s profile, above the motto, “Winter Is Coming.”
